A Not So Wonderful Wantable Review

April 7, 2018 by Tina Anthis

I’ve been very pleased with my previous Wantable deliveries…always keeping atleast one or two items but this latest batch was full of duds!

WantableUpon initial inspection a couple of things looked promising (there was a romper!) but once I tried everything on it was clear that everything was going back. 🙁 The romper had a weird white panel in the front that was oddly reminiscent of a penguin, the jeans were too long and somewhat baggy, the pink top pulled across my chest, the tanish tank was just NO. Red sweater was ok but I’m not looking for winter clothes at this time and it was pretty bulky. Hated the denim shirt, the frayed hem was just horrible and the grey top was too much like my $5 Target top only it had a price tag of $42! WHAT??

This pink top was the only thing even remotely worthy of taking a picture to share with you. (good lord my mirror is dirty!) Seriously though, I couldn’t stuff the clothing into the return bag fast enough! LOL! I lose my $20 styling fee but this is the one and only time that has happened with any of the fashion deliver companies (Wantable, Stitch Fix and Trunk Club) so I will just chalk this one up to a stylist who was asleep at the wheel. 😉

Nadine
Nadine delivery

Two or three months ago a company called Nadine West came onto my radar. They also send out fashion items like the others but they claim they are different in that they send one complete outfit including accessories. Keep what you want return what you don’t. You can set that up for subscription delivery (every two weeks or once a month or on demand). I tried out the every two weeks. Out of the four deliveries I’ve received, I’ve only kept 2 items. (Each package has 4-5 items). They tout themselves as sending an entire outfit but I would disagree…for example…in this latest package there was a sweater dress (very itchy!), a black top, a bracelet and a necklace and leggings…sounds fine, except the leggings were active wear. This has happened twice now and I think it’s weird. I’ve also received earrings twice even though I answered “no” to the pierced ear question and the jewelry always feels cheap. I think I’ve given them a fair trial period but have decided to end my subscription with them.

After my dud Wantable and the less than wonderful Nadine West package, I had a little bit of time one afternoon and stopped in at Target to see if anything there caught my eye. Here are a couple of things…

Pardon the lighting! Target dressing room lighting sucks! I’m on the lookout for a pair of denim shorts, but these were weird in the front. Love the floral romper but I have the exact same one in black. The floral dress was too tight across the chest but would have been too loose everywhere else if I would’ve sized up.

In the end nothing came home with me. Now that my closet is super clean and organized, I’m super picky about what I bring home to hang in there. I want to make sure I love each and every item and not buy clothes just because.

My next Trunk Club should arrive in 2 weeks or so…I’m really hoping to find cute shorts and a maxi dress….We’ll see!
