boys and girls stitch fix review

March 18, 2019 by Tina Anthis

This post took forever to get up and running! Mostly because my children are the most uncooperative models ever! LOL! In fact, they don’t even appear anywhere in this stitch fix post because I never got them to try the clothes on before I had to decide what to keep and what to return. sigh. There was a lot to love in both of the boys and girls stitch fix boxes this go-round and I would likely have kept much more than I did but without knowing exactly what would fit and what wouldn’t, I made my best guess. 🙂

boys

Cute, cute stuff!

so, what was in the box….

  • gray and blue hooded tee- nice light weigh, perfect for the winter/spring transition
  • grey sports hoodie- too long for my short waisted guy
  • orange (?) hoodie- nice thickness but the color was tough. In some light it looked orange, some red and some almost a pinkish/salmon color.
  • maroon joggers- probably a little thicker than would be necessary for this time of year and they would have been huge in the waist. Maybe I should’ve kept them for next winter??
  • navy long sleeve sports tee- cute, vintage look
  • dark grey motto joggers- nice fabric, zipper pockets
  • light grey joggers- much like the maroon, too thick but probably would’ve been great for next winter
  • “Adventure” tee- it’s got a vehicle on it…need I say more?
  • airplane tee- shortsleeves, nice light weight, cute graphic
  • night sky tee- the graphic felt plastic-y

So, what did we keep from this stitch fix boys box?….

The motto joggers, the vehicle tee and the airplane top. Because my model was awol, I had to make my best guess at what he would like and what would fit. I’m pleased to say I did a good job! Joshua loved my picks and has worn all of them several times already. The joggers are a bit big in both the waist and length, but that’s ok, he’s due for a growth spurt!

girls

  • “always wear your invisible crown” tee- short sleeve, light weight. It had these little fabric knots, on on each side in the front that made it look a little weird
  • peace sign tee- thin, reminds me of something from Targer
  • floral bomber jacket- super cute!! If this had been one size bigger it would have been a sure thing. But I was worried it would be too short and with spring around the corner, by the time cold weather was back it would be too small
  • navy tunic top- adorable style, super soft fabric
  • rainbow sleeve tee- it reminds me of the 70’s, done!
  • pink capri leggings- had heart pockets on the back. Sofia would’ve thought they looked too “baby”
  • pink lace-up sleeve top- thicker like a sweat shirt, cute style
  • white keds- these are the kind you don’t have to tie. I’m sure she would have liked these but without trying them on, I wasn’t sure if they’d fit so back they went
  • light wash denim jeggings- soft fabric, but based on the fact that neither of her other pairs of jeggings ever make it out of the drawer and onto her body, I’m guessing she woudn’t have worn these either
  • polka dot capri leggings- these were quite wide in the waist which wouldn’t have worked for Sofia

we ended up keeping….

just these two tops. The tunic is perfect with leggings and there is no way that rainbow top wasn’t going straight into her drawer! haha! She has worn both of these a couple of times and has told me she likes both of them, but especially the tunic top, it’s very “comfy”

So, that’s it for this edition of boys and girls stitch fix! As usual I think both of the stylists did a great job picking out items for the kids. I thought it was cute…on Joshuas note from his stylist she said, “tell your mom I got the message….NO MORE JEANS!” LOL! Yes, he’s not a fan of jeans and prefers pants he move around in that aren’t stiff. I get it, I’m the same way! I’ll take comfort over style any day! 🙂
