It’s Friday!! Whew! Made it through another week. This week is ending a bit rough for me…my children have gifted me with the cold they’ve been passing around for the last couple of weeks. #sostuffedup. But I won’t let that keep me from sharing a fun new company with you today…Color the World. They make a lovely line of lipsticks that are vegan, cruelty free and loaded with all natural ingredients instead of funky chemicals. Don’t forget to link up with Andrea, Narci and Erika if you have your own Friday Faves to share!
I only have one favorite to show you this week. Color the World came on my radar a few weeks ago via Facebook. I was lured in by the adorable packaging and ultimately ordered because they were having a great sale that brought the price down to what I typically pay for lipstick. Ever since my favorite lipstick was discontinued (don’t you hate it when that happens??), I’ve been on the lookout for the perfect nude shade. With that in mind I thought I’d try a few from Color the World .
Initially I just ordered one…Cashmere, but loved it so I jumped right back online and ordered three more! Here’s the four I ended up with…
How cute is the packaging? Oh I forgot to mention…a portion of each lipstick sale goes to a specific cause. For example here’s my four with their causes listed…
- Cashmere- Protect the Kittens
- Warrior- Help Support Disabled American Veterans
- Huntress- Give a Dog a Forever Home
- Empowered- Help Triumph over Depression and Anxiety
There are so many more! Alzheimers Reseach, Clean Up and Preserve Our Oceans and Restoring Vision Across the Globe…are just a few more examples. Take a look at all the shades and their causes.
I know the shades look a bit dark in the above picture but they really are a touch more sheer than they look in my harsh bathroom light. Here’s a closer look at each color…
Cashmere
Empowered
Warrior
Huntress
Which one is your favorite? Now, back to my quest for the perfect nude shade of lipstick. Did Color the World hit the mark? I tried Cashmere first and really liked it but then I saw Warrior and thought one might be spot on. Truth is I love them both! But if I had to pick just one nude color, I’d go with Warrior, it truly is a nice neutral shade. I was very pleased that none of the lipsticks had any flavor (I’m looking at you MAC makeup! blech!). They went on super smooth and while I certainly can’t say they lasted all day (not a deal breaker for me), they did have some pretty good staying power.
Now I see on Color the World website that they are offering a 25% discount…no code needed! By the way this post is NOT sponsored…I don’t make a dime off any orders, I just thought I’d share with you a new company that seems to be doing some good stuff in the world. 🙂
Fun Fact!
Did you know that when the economy goes down, lipstick sales go up? Yup…it’s called the “lipstick effect”. Apparently when the economy tanks women look to boost their mood with a less expensive alternative to larger purchases.
Thanks for joining this weeks Friday Favorites. I hope you’ll look into Color the World…maybe you’ll find just the shade you have been searching for! 🙂
