Disappointing Stitch Fix

February 6, 2019 by Tina Anthis

Well, it had to happen eventually…a disappointing Stitch Fix! I was so looking forward to this Stitch Fix delivery! I opened the box with great anticipation…

There’s just something so fun about getting a wrapped up package…all for me! LOL!

This is what awaited me…

in the box….

  • Light gray marled twist front top (cute style, but the light color wasn’t very flattering and the fabric was stiff and a bit itchy)
  • Blue striped cowl neck tunic top (SO SOFT!! I had high hopes for this. It was the perfect length and fit fine, but I really felt the stripes made me look wider than I’d like to look)
  • Navy lightweight waterfall cardigan (meh….nothing special here. Felt like something I could have bought at Target)
  • Light sage green skinny jeans (If these had been black they would have been immediatley in my closet! They were such a good fit and the fabric was awesome but it turns out that colored jeans just aren’t my thing. I really did try. I wore them around for a bit (see pics below) and looked in every mirror, but in the end…nope)
  • Dark gray lace back cardigan (cool back. With my shorter hair this really could’ve looked cute, but it hung on me like a wet blanket. It needed to be more fitted through the arms and a slightly lighter weight yarn.

Yup…I only took pics of the skinny jeans. I just didn’t like any of the rest of the items enough to bother (plus I was having some hair issues! LOL!)

did i keep anything??

Ok, if you are keeping track…Five items showed up and I sent back all five items. After utilizing various style delivery companies for a couple of years now, only one other time (a Wantable shipment) have I returned every item. I lose my $20 styling fee which is a bummer BUT I’d rather lose that money than buy something that is just going to sit and take up space in my closet. I made myself a promise (when I cleaned out my closet) that I would only buy pieces I really love. And I just didn’t love any of these so they had to go back.

this box was a dud

While this Stitch fix delivery was totally disappointing, I won’t hesitate to try again next month. I think it all comes down to who the stylist is. I’ve had some awesome stylists who have really paid attention to my Pinterest Style Board and the notes I leave prior to each shipment. Some have just really understood my style as well as my likes and dislikes. And other times, the boxes just seem a bit impersonal. But even in those deliveries there’s been atleast one item that I love. This time…not so much

To make sure I’m not the problem, I’m going to go back through my Pinterest board and refresh my Stitch Fix profile…just to be sure that everything represents me and where I am with my style. While this was a disappointing Stitch Fix delivery, I’m confident that the next shipment will have lots of goodies to love.
