It’s time once again to link up with Andrea, Erika and Narci for Friday Favorites!
Sarah has started a Criminal Justice class at the local community college. It meets twice a week which puts me on #momtaxi duty on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The college is just far enough away that it doesn’t make sense to come back home while she’s in class so I either run errands or, if I’m lucky, find a parking spot and hang out in the car.
This time around the parking gods were smiling upon me and I scored a sweet spot. I made a few phone calls…canceled my gym membership (#gymfailure!) and set up a dermatology appointment (PSA! Get those annual skin checks!). After that I felt quite accomplished! I don’t know why I put tiny things like this off. Making calls/appointments feels huge until it’s over and then I wonder why I procrastinate!

This book is a huge favorite this week! I picked it up on a whim at Wegmans a few weeks ago. I am thinking that it fits in the YA category…a genre I rarely go for…but something about it spoke to me. From the back description…”A love letter to the 80’s…” Yup, don’t need to go any further, I am a total sucker for nostalgia. The book takes place in 1987 and the main character is a highschool freshman. I was a freshman in 1986 so this novel is like a blast from the past. It’s SO good.

In the background you might have noticed my cute, fluffy, key chain. One of my darling daughters gave it to me for Christmas. But if you look closer you’ll see a couple of rhinestones. My incredibly sweet son bought be a pair of “diamond” earrings for Christmas. Nick took him shopping and he insisted that I needed these earrings, and that he HAD to buy them for me. So cute. Only problem??…I don’t have pierced ears! In fact, I react to all metals in varying degrees of rashes, so I almost never wear jewelry. Oh boy. What a dilemma! I seriously lost sleep over how to handle this. I knew he would be crushed if I wasn’t to use them. Ah Ha! It came to me in the middle of the night…I could make them into something else. While I was pursing the options at Michaels I found these cute little hooks that had “rubies” in them. I was able to pop the rubies out and put my “diamonds” in! Now they hang from my key chain. I’m able to take them with me wherever I go. I found the solution just in time, as later that same day he asked me “are your ears pierced?” I was able to say no, BUT look what I did instead. He was thrilled. whew!!

Starbucks (White Chocolate Mocha, skim no whip…in case you were wondering) and classic rock…always a favorite!

Oh my gosh…these boots! I love them. They came in my first Trunk Club delivery. I’ve been on the lookout for brown booties. These are so comfy and real leather…trouble is they are $140. sigh. To keep them or not?? What to do…. (spoiler alert…I kept them 😉
Check out my review…Trunk Club vs.Stitch Fix!
