This weekend we are laying pretty low, except we are having dinner with our neighbors and I’m taking Joshua out on a date …excuse me I mean a “Mom/Son Moment”. Originally I had put on his calendar “Mom/Joshua Date”. Oh my!! Apparently I cannot have a date with my son, that would be gross! The term “date” is reserved for kids and people who “like, like each other”. haha! Hopefully he won’t “like, like” a girl for a long time! LOL! Anyway we are going to do something fun on Saturday, now if I could just figure out what we are going to do! 🙂 It’s Friday so it must be time to link up with Erika, Andrea and Narci. It’s time for Friday Favorites!
ONE
A great book, TWO blankets and a cup of hot Earl Gray tea…ahhhh. Naturally this is a favorite for sure!

Sofia slipped and said a “grown-up” word this week. It may have started with Sh and ended with it. 😉 She was playing on the wii. Apparently her bowling game wasn’t going well. What do I hear from the other room “Well, sh!t there goes a gutter ball”. I did the responsible MOM thing and walked in there to discuss swearing. But ultimately I ended up congratulating her for using the correct context and then reminded her that she needs to refrain from using Grown Up words until she’s older. Why, you ask, is this story in my Friday Favorites…well I’ll you why!…..I now know that my kids DO listen to me! HAHA!

Have you tried Chatbooks? It’s a super easy way to get all those fun pictures you post on Facebook in print. I don’t know about you but I take lots of pictures on my phone and a number of those end up on Facebook…and…that’s as far as it goes. I never take the extra step to print any of my photos. I started using Chatbooks a couple of years ago. As soon as you’ve posted 60 photos on Facebook, Chatbooks automatically generates the next volume. They give you a three day, heads up, that your newest volume will be printed. That gives you time to go through those 60 photos and take out the ones you don’t want included as well as add captions and choose a cover photo. A week or so later your completed volume arrives. I think the price is very affordable…just $10 with free shipping. Chatbooks has been great for my littler kids. They are too young to be on Facebook so they rarely ever see the pictures I take. This gives them the opportunity to look back on some fun memories. If you’d like to try Chatbooks, think about using my referral link. If you set yourself up to order a series through my link you will get your first volume FREE and I’ll get a $5 credit. 🙂

And finally…Our new-ish (to us) house is pretty “vanilla” if you know what I mean. Kinda plain and certainly not my style. When it came time to start adding touches of my style I knew I had to look through this book A Touch of Farmhouse Charm: Easy DIY Projects to Add a Warm and Rustic Feel to Any Room. It did not disappoint! I made a number of smaller projects but this was the most fun… a BIG family sign! It’s big, it’s heavy and it makes a huge statement….we love it. 🙂
See you next week for more Friday Favorites!
