I know how much you have missed my Friday Favorite posts! LOL! 😉 Since it’s been a few weeks, I will jump right in!
I’m linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea to share my Friday Favorites on this, the first Friday in June!
I don’t know about your kids, but mine will fight over the DUMBEST things!! Just a few examples of recent arguments…
- Who has to close the car door when they get out at the school drop off line
- Turning off the t.v. and shutting off the wii…as in “I ALWAYS have to turn it off…you NEVER do it!”
- Pool noodles…apparently the orange one is to ever and always be reserved for my son…according to my son
- “You only picked up 3 pool toys and I had to pick up 4!!”
- Whose toothpaste is whose
- Taking up too much space at the bathroom sink
- ALWAYS having to be the first to brush their teeth,
- ALWAYS having to be last to brush their teeth (by the way, typically this is the same kid on different days)
- “I NEVER get to push the timer button”
We couldn’t help but notice that a fair amount of their arguments stemmed from teeth brushing time. Why??!! Who truly knows! One night, after the usual yelling at the children to shut up, I mean quiet down and stop arguing, it dawned on me…this simple solution…move one of the kids teeth brushing supplies into our bathroom. SOLVED! Now there is no more bickering over the sink, the toothpaste, space, timers and so forth! Joshua’s stuff found his way into my bathroom and theres been peace ever since. Well…obviously all other arguments are on going. 🙂 After several nights of teeth brushing silence, I couldn’t help but notice my son was staging his tooth brush in bizarre ways…so of course I had to start taking pictures to share with you! Haha! Please enjoy his antics. 🙂
If you are looking for the perfect tooth brush timer…try these! It doubles as a hand washing timer too.
By the way, Nick just looked at the above pics and the following conversation enused…
- him: “Where were those taken?”
- me: “Um…what?….it’s in our bathroom”
- him: “We have a lamp in our bathroom?”
- me: “Are you kidding me right now?? We’ve had a lamp in our bathroom for atleast a year!”
- him: (getting up to go look) “Oh, it’s on your side, I never look over there”
- me: (shaking my head) “For.the.love…and you wonder why women think men are clueless!!”
Best. Icecream. Ever. Enough said. 😉
Welcome to the great mouse hunt of 2018. I have no idea why, but we have mice in our house. One of our cats, Ozzie, has decided he is the great mouse hunter…except that when he carries in his “kill”, he drops it and then it runs away…so much for the killing part! So far he’s been spotted with three in his mouth and two that he was chasing around in the basement (same mice? who knows!). On the particular evening shown above, he decided to let the damn mouse go in our living room. Of course hillarity ensued, which apparently requires, standing on furniture, screaming, flipping all of our couches over and eventually catching the tiny little thing under a tupperware bowl. sigh. I wish I could say that the standing on furniture and screaming came from my children, but no. I’ll leave it to your imagination as to who was doing the screaming. 😉 Two dead as door nail mice have been found and disposed of, in the basement. My guess? Ozzie played with them until they died. I’d like to say poor mice, but really I don’t give a crap! Mice beware…come into my house and you will die one way or another! #nomiceallowed
Pool Time is always a friday favorite! (well, actually it’s an any day of the week favorite!)
This might be the dumbest friday favorite ever but I’m going to put PASTRY BLENDERS at the top of my favorites list. I’ve decided they are the perfect device to chop/smoosh up some many things! Hard boiled eggs for egg-salad sandwiches, bananas for banana bread, chopping up fresh herbs and garlic, tomatoes for pasta sauce, strawberries for strawberry shortcake and, of course, a pastry blender is great for actually making pastry dough.
This cutie had her ballet and tap recital. She looked adorable and actually looked like she knew what she was doing! 🙂
By the way this was my view for most of that cuties recital. Sigh. I can’t be the only one who almost always gets stuck behind the tallest damn person in the auditorium, but it sure feels like it!
New Deck dining furniture! We’ve had this big open deck for almost two years now and just now got around to adding some eating space. Doesn’t it look pretty? We picked up it from Lowes. Now if only we could use it….So.Much.Rain!!
Thanks for joining me on Friday Favorites! See you next week!
