Friday Favorites 8/17/2018

August 17, 2018 by Tina Anthis

I’ve tried a few new things lately (including a lip balm from Grove Collaborative that I love!) and thought I’d share them with you on this edition of Friday Favorites………………….Friday means it’s time to link up with Narci, Erika and Andrea to share a few things that have caught my eye lately.

favorites Friday

1. Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator

beauty clinique

I picked up a sample of this Cliniques Moisture Surge when I was at Ulta a few weeks ago. After cleansing at night, I slather a healthy amount of this stuff all over my face and then go to bed. When I wake up my skin feels amazingly soft.

2. Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen 40 SPF

supergoop unseen sunscreen

A small tube of Supergoop’s Unseen Sunscreen came in a sample pack I bought at Nordstroms Anniversary Sale. After just a couple of times using this sunscreen under my makeup, I knew I was going to need a full tube! I hopped over to Supergoops site and promptly bought the biggest size they make (which is only 1.7 ozs…they really need to make a larger size!). I can’t even try to explain how nice this stuff goes on. It comes out looking a bit like aquaphor…kind of jelly like, and when you rub it in you’ll think your face is going to be all kinds of shiny…nope! This stuff makes your face feel soft and it’s not shiny or sticky or greasy AT ALL. It kinda has an invisible  powder like finish. I have always been terrible about applying a daily sunscreen on my face because I’ve never found one that hasn’t left me feeling like a shiny grease ball. I can honestly say that applying this sunscreen is a joy…it’s soft, light, and has a delicate fragrance that leaves my skin matte ready for whatever makeup I’m putting on for the day. Now…it’s super pricey…$32 for just 1.7 ozs!! Ouch! I know! But I will happily plunk down the cash for this stuff if it means I’ll actually take my dermatologists advice and apply sunscreen on my face every.single.day. #skincancersucks

3. Sephora Beauty Insider Birthday BITE Lip Set

sephora BITE beauty

It’s my birthday month! I may not do as much shopping at Sephora as I used to now that there’s an Ulta super close by, but I still pop in there during the month of August to get my birthday gift! This year Sephora really nailed it with this BITE Lip Set. The colors are vibrant but not over the top and are likely to look good on any skin tone.

4. e.l.f. Exfoliating Facial Scrub

ELF beauty scrub

I’ve been using e.l.f.’s facial scrub for a number of months now and still love it. It’s easy to find (I buy it at Target), not super pricey and it has a nice light fragrance. And while, of course, I use it on my face but I have also found that it makes a wonderful hand scrub.

5. Living Proof No Frizz Weightless Styling Spray

living proof

While we were at our beach getaway, I realized I forgot to pack any of my usual hair products. Luckily I was able to borrow this Living Proof Weightless Spray from my BFF. I just spritzed it onto my freshly showered and towel dried hair and then I tossed it up into a messy bun. A few hours later when I took the bun down I was pleasantly surprised with nice soft curls…and no frizz!!

6. Mint and Argan Lip Balm by Grove Collaborative

Grove lip balm

Have you tried Grove Collaborative yet? I’ve ordered from them several times now and have been quite pleased with all of the products. This Mint and Argan lip balm was a freebie in my last order and I love it! I’ve been a die-hard Chapstick fan for well more than a decade but I find myself reaching for this Grove lip balm even more than I do my regular chapstick. It’s got a nice light scent and the flavor is pleasant…not overwhelming at all. It has a unique shape that seems to help it go on quickly and smoothly. If you are interested in reading more about Grove Collaborative, read my reviews here and here. If you sign up and place your first order you will receive a really nice 5 piece gift set free.

That’s it for this round of Friday Favorites…beauty edition! Did you find anything worth trying? Have a great weekend!
