Hostess Gifts!…(plus a wantable.com update)

February 7, 2018 by Tina Anthis

Let’s Talk Hostess Gifts….

I love me a good hostess gift! I love giving them (and receiving them too!). However it seems that the notion of hostess gifts have gone the way of rotary phones and cassette tapes! (wait am I dating myself?? Maybe I should say they’ve gone the way of flip phones and cd’s! #70skid). Hostesses, whether it’s for an intimate dinner party or a large milestone birthday party, put their heart and soul into providing a lovely festive atmosphere. So much goes into inviting people into your home (the house cleaning, the food prep, the music playlist…did I mention the house cleaning?? LOL!). We’ve all done the bottle of wine or scented candle but I like to think outside of the “hostess-gift box”, so to speak. Etsy proves to be a remarkable treasure trove of unique items. We’ve been invited to a couple of dinner parties that are creeping up on me! I need some hostess gifts quick! Here’s what I came across on my Wednesday Wanderings…

Blush Coasters

Blush and Gold Book Plates,

Pink Chiffon Candle

Coffee Lovers Mug

Quilted Mug Rug

Personalized Wooden Spoon

“Live Simply” Wooden Sign

Blush Note Pad

Personalized Makeup Bag

Bath Salts

Up-Cycled Spoon Keychain

Apparently I’m having a love affair with that Blush color! HaHa! It’s so soft and lovely and screams Spring! Do you have any upcoming parties you are planning on attending? If so, I hope you find the perfect gift to give to your gracious hostess. 🙂

What Did I Keep??

As a side note, I thought you’d all like to see what I decided to keep from my Wantable delivery. A couple of days ago, I had the opportunity to try out Wantable.com, a service that offers clothing delivery, with the chance to try things on and return what you don’t like. If you missed my try-on post,  take a look here to see what my options were. And Here’s where I compared Trunk Club and Stitch Fix

With advice and opinions from a number of people I decided to keep…

Party in the back! Such a fun detail

The Jeans, and the two short-sleeve tops. Both of which are outside my typical comfort zone…I don’t own anything with ruffles or patterns…so this is a big leap for me. These two tops are certainly nothing I would have ever picked up off the rack to try on, but I think they work with jeans and a cardi for now and with shorts later in the summer. What do you think?? Should I have stayed in the safe zone? We all have a certain style and color palette we are comfortable with, it’s too easy to keep to one formula. I suppose sometimes we have to be pushed a bit to mix it up!

————————————

Hope you are having a wonderful week! Maybe, just maybe, the 2-hour delays are done for this week! I tell ‘ya…I feel like the kids have been out of school more than they have been in the past month! I know all you parents out there are feeling my pain! 😉
