This past weekend I had the opportunity to throw a ladies brunch which included a Mimosa Bar! This was such a fun party to plan! I’ve never done a ladies only party, as I typically focus on gatherings where the whole family is welcome. But this time…no kids allowed! 🙂 …….
Evites were sent out two weeks ahead of time and the RSVP’s started rolling in! (Sorry for the chopped off invite, I cropped out my address!). I love ,such an easy way to get the word out. In todays busy world, most business seems to be conducted online/via email. The idea is to try and make RSVP’ing super easy and convenient and evites accomplish just that…and the number of different designs available are incredible!
A quick visit to my basement showed that I had most of the glassware, ice bucket, silverware, and serving pieces .I even had the pink and gold ribbon on hand already. Knowing I needed very little, I hopped over to Amazon and found the cutest paper straws, napkins and this perfect sign! It set the tone and color scheme…soft pink and gold…so girly!
The only other things I needed to purchase (besides the food and fresh flowers of course) were the juice carafes and the table runner (found at Home Goods)
Set up was super fun. I used our main dining table for the Mimosa Bar and the Yogurt Parfait Bar.
Here’s the menu…
Mimosa Bar:
- Pink Champagne
- Sparkling White Wine (aka “regular champagne”)
- Orange Juice
- Cranberry Peach Juice
- Pineapple and Coconut Juice
- Sliced oranges
- Whole Blueberries
- Slice Strawberries
- Pineapple Chunks
Create Your Own Yogurt Parfait:
- Vanilla yogurt
- Honey
- Diced strawberries
- Whole blueberries
- Diced peaches
- Vanilla bean granola
- Blueberry granola
Despite what my dad says, Stemless Wine Glasses are THE way to drink all things wine and champagne related. They are comfortable to hold and you don’t have to worry about that delicate stem! LOL! If you throw any type of parties, you have to own Jelly Jars! I have found that Jelly Jars are such a versatile drinking/serving vessel, that I now own them in three different sizes. They’re cheap, easy to find and replace as needed.
In addition to the Mimosa Bar, a bagel bar was available for all those bagel lovers out there…
A simple cake stand literaly elevated the bagel toppings (shout out to those jelly jars again!) to a new level! 😉 A tiered iron basket made the perfect way to show off the variety of bagels available. The plates are all (mostly) one a kind collected by my mom at antique stores and loaned to me.
Bagel Bar:
- Cinnamon Raisin Bagels
- Plain Bagels
- Everything Bagels
- Plain cream cheese
- Strawberry cream cheese
- Honey pecan cream cheese
- Peanut butter
- Nutella
- Butter
After all the ladies had a chance to eat and indulge in a mimosa (or two!), we did a little gift exchange…
Each guest brought a few of their favorite, fun things. We had such a neat array of items! Everything from infinity scarves to nail polish to avocado scoopers! After everyone had a chance to show what they brought, we drew names from a bowl to see who would go next to choose something from the table. I picked a cute wine glass and one of the aforementioned avocado scoopers, oh and a couple of bath bombs (homemade, they smell amazing!)
It was a ladies party so naturally we had to have a GIRL POWER play list…
I think my first ladies only get together was a huge success! Now that I’ve had a taste of a party with NO kids, I can see how I might make grown-up only parties a regular thing! I’ll leave you with a few parting shots…
