On my quest to find ways to make my thin hair look fuller, I stumbled upon a video on facebook promoting a curling wand from a brand I’d never heard of…L’ange (pronounced lah-nj). Apparently it is the French word for “Angel.” The gal in the video had the most gorgeous hair and watching her use the wand was oddly relaxing….There was a promotional code during the video which made the wand I chose quite affordable. By the way, I am in no way associated with this company, this is just my honest opinion! 🙂
I ordered the L’ange 32 mm, 1.25″ Blush Styling Wand. I’ll admit it, the color of the wand was part of the appeal…#blushcolorcrazy. But the 7790 Five Star Reviews had me pretty convinced too!
It retails for $129, but with the promo code it came down to $56 (which included tax and shipping!). It arrived just a few days later and I busted it out as soon as the mail lady dropped it off!
Typically I wear my hair straight. It takes very little time to flat iron it these days as it has it has gotten so thin over the past year. It still has some natural curl but it’s just blah. After I wash it (roughly once a week), I wear it curly while it dries and then the following day I will flat iron it. I use dry shampoo (look for my dry shampoo post next week!) in between washes.
I like my hair straight but I’ve been wanting to try adding some “beachy” waves to it for a different look. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the beachy waves were to achieve with the L’ange styling wand! It was quick to heat up, has a swivel cord and comes with a glove to keep your hand from getting burned. Styling wands work differently than curling irons. With a curling iron you start at the bottom of your hair and roll it up. A styling wand is held at the root and you use your other (gloved!) hand to wrap sections of hair around the barrel, holding for 5-8 seconds. The hair just slides off the wand when you are done.
I would need to set it with a touch of hairspray (of which I do not currently own, as I’ve had no need for it until now!), to make the waves last the whole day.
On the L’ange website there are a ton of customer photos and tutorials, showing you how to achieve different looks.
In case you are wondering what products I typically use on my hair…here are my faves…
Living Proof 5-in-1 Styling Treatment (currently on sale at Amazon for just $16…it retails for $26!) I use this straight out of the shower. A quarter size dollop scrunched into my hair (avoiding the roots as it’s a bit too heavy) and allowed to air dry does the trick.
Living Proof Overnight Perfector (also on sale for just $19.20, usually $28) This stuff is awesome. When I’m wearing it curly and it’s my intent to wear it curly the next day…at bedtime I take about a quarter size dollop and work it through all of my hair. I throw it up in a loose, high bun. When I take it down in the morning my curls look fresh!
As for Shampoo and Conditioner…I’ve been using the same gigantic bottles of Pantene from Costco for.ever.! I’m convinced there is a never ending supply in those things. LOL! 😉
The L’ange company also has hair dryers and flat irons as well as styling products. I have the Murula Oil on the way to try. I have used Moroccan oil forever and I love it, but I thought I’d try something new! I’m wondering if the heat protector spray would be worth it….another order might be necessary! 😉

The beachy waves look beautiful on you!

Hair looks great. I’m thinking the wand would only work on long hair, not short.
