Life Lately

April 1, 2019 by Tina Anthis

Since I didn’t do a What’s Up Wednesday last week I thought I’d share with you a bit of what’s been going on around here in this edition of Life Lately.

La Tolteca mexican

We tried a new Mexican place…La Tolceta. Nick had this fajita in a pineapple thing which he said was very tasty…although he took up half the table with all his plates! LOL! I had shrimp tacos…yum!

magnolia journal magazine

I’m excited to read the New York City article in the most recent Magnolia Magazine. Nick will be attending some training in NYC and guess who will be joining him? I can’t wait to walk around the city by myself (we will leave the kids at home) and just go where I want to go!

x-ray broken front tooth fractured

Sarah is finally moving forward with her dental implant. See that fractured tooth, Sarah broke her top tooth when she was 8 years old. It was stabalized with a root canal which held for a while. Now it’s basically being held in by her orthodontic bonded retainer. Getting the implant is a multi step process…

  • have molds taken
  • begin whitening surrounding teeth so that implant will match
  • meet with an oral surgeon to evaluate growth plates. A 3-D x-ray will be taken to see if she is done growing and to see if there is enough bone in the area or if she will need a bone graft before implant (that would add about 3 months onto the treatment plan)
  • If she is done growing then we move forward with having the old tooth removed, the screw placed and then a temporary placed
  • the temp tooth will remain for roughly 3 months until the entire bone/screw is healed up and fused
  • permanent tooth is placed
  • the end! All in all this is likely to take 4-7 months

chicken bacon ranch recipe

This Chicken Bacon Ranch Frito casserole has been on repeat around here…so yummy! I use rotiserrie chicken…it’s nice and juicy.

Cats, cats and more cats! Sometimes they are just too cute and I can’t resist taking a pic. Now that it’s spring they are spending more time stalking birds…as if they have a chance! haha! Of course all that stalking leaves them plenty tired. Such a full life. 😉

book review island of sea women

Did you miss my most recent book review? If so, check it out here. I just started reading My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing. It’s promised to be a twisty, turn-y thriller. We’ll see!!

Thanks for checking out our Life Lately. 🙂
