Lucketts Spring Market

May 21, 2018 by Tina Anthis

Once a year, a small vintage shop, Lucketts, in Virginia puts on a HUGE spring market. It’s loaded with vintage, shabby, chippy and sometimes very quirky goods. This year my bestie and I trekked over to the Berryville fair grounds to see what we could find! It had been raining for DAYS so it’s an understatement to say that the ground was muddy and saturated and did I mention muddy! LOL! We had two things in our favor…the rain had stopped (finally!) that morning AND we had rain boots! We would have been miserable if we’d not had those boots. The mud was so thick in spots it would just suck your feet right in. It’s a wonder neither of us slipped and fell! (side note…I did see one lady who had obviously fallen, the mud up and down one side of her body was a pretty big clue! But did that stop her from shopping? No way! haha!). I’ve been to Lucketts Spring Market before and have always been impressed…this year did NOT disappoint! There were well over 150 vendors, 10 or so food booths and music. It was so well organized and included a furniture service that would get your larger items from the seller, hold them till you were ready and then load them in your car. Sweet!…Lucketts, you rock!

Here we are ready to get our vintage on!!

Lucketts

This was just a very small taste of what was to come mud wise. 🙂

(P.S. I love my monogrammed duck boots!)

Lucketts

There were wagons available to rent. $5 for the whole day and boy did it come in handy!

Such beautiful, brilliant colors. Really perky on a cloudy day. My sister-in-law would have gone totally crazy between these three booths.

After hours of walking, a hot sugary donut, lunch under the tent listening to music (burger for Christina…Milk shake for me! #nokidsaround #ieatwhatiwant), hailing a tow truck to get the stuck mini van out of the mud, searching through 163 vendors, we finally loaded everything up and headed home. Tired but thrilled with our finds. Check my treasures out below!

My kids are always bringing me little flowers and typically I just stick them in a jelly jar but this little basket will make displaying their finds much easier (and more attractive!)

Lucketts

Such a pretty chair! Harriet appropriated it right away. 😉

After 12 years I finally have a nightstand I love! (as opposed to my previous, crappy, goodwill one that I bought out of desperation when I moved to Maryland and needed something to hold all my nighttime crap. I’m happy to report that Joshua now has that nightstand and is thrilled with it. #theboyhasnotaste LOL!) See that note pad? I know it’s kinda hidden…but it’s too cute! I got it from Erin Conden and it’s personalized with my name across the bottom. She has the most adorable planners and stationary!

Lucketts

My coffee cabinet actually came from the Pink Cabbage (in Ellicott City, MD) several years ago. Isn’t it awesome? But that cute little divided tray is just what I’ve been looking for to hold creamers and sugar packets.

Lucketts

I will fill the third compartment with a different flavored creamer

Lucketts

This little (but very heavy!) shelf was likely part of a childs play kitchen set at one point. I found it at Lucketts three years ago. It’s always a perfect place to display vintage items.

Lucketts

This box used to hold prescriptions at a pharmacy. I chose one that was used in 1967 as a tribute to my hubby who was born in ’67…I’ll let you do the math! #oldman. 😉 The antique pharmacy counter was available for sale too. Oh how I wish I could have brought that beauty home with me…and that I would actually have a place to put that behemoth! It was stunning. Too bad I didn’t grab a picture!

Lucketts

I’m always on the lookout for #6’s. Letter “A’s” and #6’s are my most favorite things to decorate with. I like things that represent our family pride.

I also bought a vintage, blue pyrex bread pan and a huge orange detour sign (for Joshua’s room) that I don’t have pics of yet. We had such a fun time at Lucketts and can’t wait to go next year!!!

I vote for hazelnut creamer for the third compartment. Beautiful stuff!

      Soooooo much fun 😁
All of your purchases look great! If Harriet approves, then you know it was a good buy! Can’t wait to go again next year ❤️
