When we moved into our new home it was clear, right from the beginning, that the former owners had made some quick DIY efforts to make the house presentable before putting it on the market. Paint being the biggest effort. It was done quickly, in a haphazard way that left a LOT to be desired. The color was blah, and it was patchy in places. Two years later I finally tackled our master bath. Check out my quick, CHEAP bathroom re-do…Ya’ll should be proud of me! I remembered to take BEFORE pics! I’ll post them side by side to maximize the differences. To make this re-do quick and cheap I used what we had on hand. In this case I happened to have a fair amount of my favorite grey paint (Mindful Grey by Sherwin Williams) on hand as well as some random white semi-gloss that, I think, was left behind by the previous owners. I also already had roller and regular paint brushes, painters tape and some high gloss trim paint.
I’m a big fan of grey walls and white cabinets, but this time I decided to mix things up a bit and paint the CABINETS grey and the walls white. While we do have a small window in our bathroom, I still wanted to make this space as light and bright as possible. So white walls it was! Here’s how it turned out…
It took me roughly 4-5 hours in all to transform my dark-ish bathroom into a light and bright space. This cheap mini makeover should tide me over until I can get a new tub and counter-top. What do you think? Not bad for a ZERO out of pocket make-over!
