I have a new Stitch Fix box to share with you today. I had requested boyfriend style jeans, a black cardigan and cozy, long sleeve tops. Let’s see how well the stylist paid attention………………………..Those who have been following my blog for a while know that I am in love with several of the style delivery companies that have popped up. I love that I can try things on at home. I love that I can see if any of the items in the box might work with pieces I already have in my closet. I love that the stylists always choose styles that are different from the norm…often they have details or a cut/style I wouldn’t ever pick up on my own. So often I am pleasantly surprised at the way things look once I’ve got them on.
Here’s what showed up this time around….
Right away I loved the feel of the olive green top, I was intrigued by the unusual cut of the cardigan and was surprised to see a jewelry box…I’m not sure if Stitch Fix has ever sent me jewelry before!
Ok…time to try things on………………
Ok…I’m just going to throw this out there…I had NO idea my arms were that hairy! LOL! As for the bracelet, I wasn’t thrilled. I tried the gray cowel neck top with both the requested boyfriend jeans as well as a pair of my favorite leggings. Super soft but not bulky. Works with a half tuck for the jeans and totally long enough to wear with leggings.
I tried to make this olive green hoodie top work, I really did but in the end it’s going back. The fabric feel was awesome and I think the ribbing detail is different and interesting. I tried it with both jeans and leggings and ultimately it’s that ribbing that made it a no go. It just wouldn’t hang right and instead would either bunch up awkwardly or want to pull the whole top down straight which I felt emphasized my chest in a way I don’t like. So…bye-bye green top!
Here’s the black cardigan. I love the weight on this…not overly thick or bulky. The button detail is very different! If you wear it buttoned it crosses over in the front in a flattering way, or you can wear it unbuttoned for a more casual look…it ends up looking like a waterfall cardi. I really like this one…a keeper for sure! As for the boyfriend jeans. They fit great, nice and comfy, I’m just wondering if I want a bit of distressing to make them looks more “worn”, it you know what I mean. 🙂 Ultimately I’m on the fence about the jeans and the gray top. Thankfully I have a couple of days to think on it.
Here’s the pricing sheet and the style cards for this delivery. As you can see there is always a 25% discount if you purchase all of the items in the box. Plus your $20 styling fee (paid when your box ships) is applied to your purchase.
