Trunk Club Box Arrived!

August 18, 2018 by Tina Anthis

The wait is over!…the Trunk Club box I was super excited to get, arrived. In case you forgot, I blogged about my preview experience for this upcoming delivery here. I mentioned that the first round preview was a NO-GO! But my stylist took to heart my feedback and updated it with some super squishy, awesomeness! Check it out………………………………………..trunk club cozy fall

This delivery from Trunk Club nailed the cozy fall vibe I was looking for. In case you can’t tell there are TWELVE items there! I love Stitch Fix and Wantable but they only send five and seven items respectively, so twelve things to choose from was great!  Right off the bat I was pretty sure I knew what my favorites were going to be but I tried on everything just to be sure….

  1. Soft, stretch blue jumpsuit. Super comfy but Sarah tells me it looks too much like nurses scrubs. haha!
  2. Blue, fleece top with stars. Oh, I really wanted to like this, it’s so different from anything else I have but much to my dismay the little embroidered stars aren’t backed with anything so they are all really scratchy 🙁
  3. Orange? Coral? Melon? what color is this top anyway! Believe it or not the description on the label says “pink”…uh…I’m not sure what color it is but I for sure know it’s not pink! LOL! Surprisingly I really like this top…it meets all of my “cozy fall” criteria but I just can’t see myself reaching for it enough to justify it’s place in my closet.
  4. Navy/Grayish fleece top. This is like an upscale sweatshirt. It’s got the same general style but with a way less bulky silhouette. Typically I avoid all sweat shirts and pull-over sweaters as I just get too hot in them, but the weight of this top is perfect. It’s SO soft!!!
  5. Varsity cardigan. Cute, different but way too big!
  6. Green circle cardigan. Like the color but when compared to the other soft, sweater-y things in the box this one just felt blah. Cute but nothing super special.
  7. Barefoot Dreams navy circle cardigan. OH.MY.GOODNESS. When you look up soft in the dictionary a picture of this sweater is sure to be there. I can’t begin to describe how squishy, cozy and soft this thing is. It’s technically “lounge wear” but with the tighter sleeves, pockets and over all style, it can easily be dressed up for wearing outside the house. I see it with black top and leggings with my tall brown boots. Speaking of leggings, I am wearing my go-to leggings in several of these pics. The brand is Hue and I used to buy them at Nordstrom BUT they stopped selling them! wah!! Imagine my surprise when I found them being sold at Costco!! A two pack was only $18!!! A single pair at nordy was $32! They are the perfect leggings. The black stays black, no saggy knees and the wide waist band holds everything in, if you know what I mean! 😉
  8. Barefoot Dreams grey “sweatshirt”. This is another top similar to #4. The differences being that instead of a banded waist it’s more flowy with a little bow detail. I see that it’s actually a functional drawstring, but I can’t imagine who would be pulling it in. I’m thinking it would make it look really weird like that. This baby is just as soft as the cardigan in #7. It feels so nice on.

**not pictured…the striped top (boring!), the black pleated pants (fit like mom jeans), and the gray sweat pants (fine, but nothing special) and the black marled sweater (TOO LONG, made it look like a bathrobe)

I narrowed it down to three items. #4, 7 and 8. How can I choose??? All three feel amazing and I could see all of them getting a lot of use in the colder weather. All three work with leggings or skinny jeans. UGH! I just don’t think I can justify keeping all three, especially at their price points. spoiler alert….NOT CHEAP!

What do you think?? This Trunk was great. Which one(s) would you keep? I have until Monday to decide.

By the way…are you sick of looking at my bathroom??!! What? you don’t love the dirty mirror and seeing my toothpaste?? LOL! Maybe someday I will have a better place to take pictures…#obviouslynotafashionblogger 😉

Thinking of trying Trunk Club? Check it out and see if it’s for you.

LOVE the green sweater! The blue one with stars is super cute – maybe wear a tank top under it so the stars aren’t scratchy?
