Rather than do two separate posts about my most recent style delivery boxes, I thought I’d put them side by side. Wantable versus Stitch Fix! Take a look…
When I added a note to the Wantable stylist I mentioned I wanted to try a lighter skinny jean plus some spring tops. As for Stitch Fix, I know I mentioned spring tops but it seems I neglected to mention any type of pants. Here’s what arrived…
Wantable Versus Stitch Fix
Wantable always includes 7 items whereas with Stitch Fix you get 5. I’ve never gotten a purse in any of my deliveries before so that was new. Spoiler alert…I didn’t like it. But to be fair, I am VERY picky when it comes to purses. My number one purse must have is the ability to put it on my shoulder with just one hand. That rules out all bags with short handles and cross-body bags. I am usually a hobo bag girl. Like this one from Amazon I bought a few months ago.
wantable
As for Wantable…I was pleased to see two pairs of lighter wash skinny jeans just like I asked for. The tops were all misses. The stripe was huge…like it could be a maternity top kind of huge! The maxi was empire waisted and made my boobs look way too big. The grey top had a full lace back. Not only was it uncomfortable but you’d be able to see everything back there. The black 3/4 length sleeve, light weight sweater was cute (shown below) but I already own something quite similar.
As for the jeans….The first pair, by Article of Society, where a nice soft fabric, great length but WAY too big in the waist. By the end of the day, they’d be so stretch out and saggy baggy.
The second pair, by Vigoss, are a perfect fit. They start out a tad snug, but with the amount of stretch in the fabric, loosen up as they day goes on, but not so much that they would sag or look sloppy. I thought the raw hem and distressing were nice details. Of course, most important, they are super comfy.
stitch fix
Here are the Stitch Fix tops. I didn’t bother taking pics of the grey jacket which was stiff and awkward or the capri, cargo pants. Cargo pants are an automatic Nope! But I really liked all three tops. They were light weight and flowy. I was pleasantly surprised by the 3/4 length sleeve top…it’s a suplice style which typically doesn’t work for me. The cut across wrap part usually hits my chest at a weird angle and/or pulls to tight. But not this one! It draped nicely and the bows on the sleeves are a fun touch.
In the end I kept these two tops. I think both of the floral patterns are fun and quite different for me. Both will work great half tucked with skinny jeans or my favorite denim shorts.
prices
The prices were all very comparable. Each top or pair of jeans ranged from $45-$68. I likely would have kept the black top from Wantable and the plaid top from Stitch Fix if the prices on those had been a bit lower.
and the winner is….
Wantable versus Stitch Fix…who wins?? I don’t think there was a clear winner here. Both Wantable and Stitch Fix had a couple of cute hits and a number of total misses. In the end I was able to add a great pair of jeans and two new spring-y tops to my wardrobe. Pieces that I know I will reach for regularly and that, my friends, is a total win. 🙂
